Ep 9. None so deaf as those who will not hear

Chise and Elias head to a nearby village to investigate a strange illness that has been affecting the townspeople. Upon arriving, they discover that the villagers have been ignoring the symptoms and refusing any aid from outsiders. Chise meets a young girl named Isabel who is able to see spirits like her and quickly befriends her. As Chise continues to investigate the illness, she discovers that it is caused by a malevolent spirit that is feeding off of the negative emotions of the village's residents. With the help of Isabel and some of the other townspeople, Chise is able to exorcise the spirit and heal the sick. However, the experience leaves Chise shaken and questioning the true nature of human emotions. Meanwhile, Elias continues to struggle with understanding human emotions and how to properly express them.
