The Apprentice season 7 episode 7 titled "Broadway Boardroom" brings a uniquely creative challenge to the contestants. After being summoned to the majestic New York Palace Hotel, the teams meet with Donald Trump, who announces that they will be producing a 90-second promotional video for Kodak's new product, the pocket-sized Z18 HD camcorder. The task is to highlight the portability, quality and value of the product and present it in a Broadway-style musical video.
The teams are divided into two, with Stefani as project manager for the women's team and Clint for the men's team. Stefani, who has a background in entertainment, is confident in her team's ability to put on a show-stopping performance. Clint, on the other hand, decides to focus on the technical aspects of the video and assigns Anand to direct.
The teams meet with Kodak representatives who provide them with the Z18 HD camcorder and a selection of props and costumes. They have only one day to write, rehearse and film the video. The women's team decide to create a story about a woman on vacation in New York City capturing all of her adventures with the Z18 HD camcorder. The men's team create a performance that shows the versatility of the Z18 HD camcorder and its ability to capture both outdoor and indoor scenes.
As they film their videos, both teams encounter various setbacks and challenges. The women's team struggles with finding the right locations and managing their time effectively. The men's team confronts technical difficulties with the audio and video equipment.
After a long day of filming, the teams present their videos to the Kodak executives, including the CEO. The women's team impresses with their catchy music, well-choreographed dancing and storyline that showcases the product's features. The men's team falls short despite their strong technical execution due to a lackluster presentation.
In the boardroom, Trump is joined by former Apprentice winner Bill Rancic and Kodak executives to determine the winner. Despite a strong performance from the women's team, they lose due to their failure to showcase the Z18 HD camcorder's voice recording feature. The men's team wins and receives a helicopter tour of New York City as a reward.
The women's team head to the boardroom where Stefani brings back Maria and Mahsa to face elimination. Mahsa, who has clashed with Stefani and the team in the past, is fired for her poor performance in the task and her inability to work well with others.
The episode ends with Trump reminding the remaining contestants that the competition is getting tougher and that they need to step up their game to stay in the game and become The Apprentice.
