Stephanie is stunned when Rick tells her that he called off the wedding because he saw Deacon and Amber kissing. She thinks Rick needs to discuss what he saw with Amber, but Rick isn't sure he can forgive her betrayal even if she has an excuse. Stephanie encourages Rick to fight for the woman he loves. Stephanie insists that Rick can't end the relationship until he knows exactly what's going on - and Stephanie decides to find out herself. Amber tells Deacon that it seems as if there's a piece missing from the puzzle. Deacon wants Amber to admit that she and Rick are just a bad match. Amber's convinced that she's a loser and, no matter how close she gets to her dream, that's all she'll ever be. Deacon tries to cheer her up. Brooke tells Thorne that she feels guilty about bringing Amber into Rick's life by hiring her to begin with, so she couldn't let him ruin his life by letting him jump into a marriage without knowing his options. Thorne points out that Rick obviously still loves Amber and little Eric and asks Brooke what will happen if Rick takes them back. After Thorne goes, Brooke sees Stephanie standing in the doorway with fury in her eyes.
