The year is 1982 and Glasgow is in shock following the horrific murder of two-year-old Brian Wilcox. After Paddy's 10-year-old cousin ends up being charged with the crime she faces a choice between the two defining elements in her life. Paddy ends up deciding to put family first and decides not to use her inside track on the story to secure her first major scoop as a reporter. Her colleague Heather though ends up putting Meehan family splashed across the front pages. Paddy decides to look into the case to prove her cousin's innocence after being shunned by her family.
