Ep 1. Flashpoint

Barry Allen wakes up to find that his entire world has changed. He is no longer the flash, and he is not even sure if Central City even exists. As he begins to piece together what has happened, Barry realizes that he has made a tremendous mistake.

Barry used his powers to save his mother from the Reverse Flash, which set off a chain reaction that drastically altered the timeline. In this new reality, many of the things that Barry took for granted no longer exist. For example, his mother is still alive, but she no longer has the same relationship with Barry that she did in his original timeline. Meanwhile, some of the people that Barry loves, like Iris West, do not even recognize him.

Barry has created a new timeline in which he never became the Flash. In fact, he does not even have any powers at all. He lives a mundane life as a forensic investigator, which is not fulfilling for him at all. He realizes that he has inadvertently done more harm than good by creating this alternate reality.

As Barry becomes more and more desperate to fix the timeline, he seeks out Cisco Ramon, hoping that he can help him regain his powers. Cisco does not trust Barry, however, and (rightfully) blames him for splitting apart their friendship and creating the current timeline. This creates tension between the two friends, and also sets up a potential hurdle for Barry as he tries to set everything right.

Meanwhile, the villains that Barry fought in the original timeline are still wreaking havoc in the new reality. This includes the Kid Flash, who is nowhere to be found in this alternate world. Barry is afraid that he has set off a chain reaction that will have devastating consequences on the world.

As the episode unfolds, it becomes clear that Barry will have to make a sacrifice if he ever wants to set things right. He will need to give up things that he dearly loves, including his relationship with his mother, and the love of his life. It is a tough decision, but one that he knows is necessary in order to set things right and restore the timeline to its original state.
