Ep 17. Duet

Barry Allen aka The Flash is a superhero who possesses the ability to run at incredible speeds. In season 3 episode 17 titled "Duet," Barry is transported to a musical world where he must navigate his way through a musical extravaganza in order to save his love interest, Iris West.

The episode starts with Barry getting fed up with the stress of constantly fighting villains and decides to take a night off with Iris. However, his happiness is short-lived when they come across the Music Meister, played by Darren Criss, who turns out to be a telepathic villain with the ability to control people through song. He puts Barry in a dreamland where his life is a musical and he must complete a task in order to save Iris.

Barry finds himself in a musical world filled with singing and dancing, with every character he knows suddenly transformed into different musical personas. He himself is a nightclub singer and he meets Iris, who is now a lounge singer. Through song and dance, Barry and Iris discover the tasks they must complete in order to be freed from the dreamland.

Throughout the episode, fans are treated to some well-choreographed musical numbers and beautiful renditions of well-known songs. Aside from Barry and Iris, other members of The Flash's team make appearances in the musical, including Cisco who plays a music producer. Fans also get to see the return of an old character that plays a big role in the episode.

Despite the episode's departure from the show's usual format, the story still manages to progress with important character development. Barry and Iris, who are engaged to be married, are forced to confront their fears and doubts surrounding their future together, and we see how much they truly mean to each other.

In addition to the great musical numbers, the episode features some great performances from its actors. Grant Gustin and Candice Patton, who play Barry and Iris respectively, both show off their vocal talents. Even Jesse L. Martin, who plays Joe West, gets to showcase his singing voice. And of course, Darren Criss as the Music Meister steals the show with his impressive vocals and charming demeanor.

Overall, "Duet" is a fun and entertaining diversion from The Flash's usual format. It proves that the show can tackle different genres and still be successful. With its light-hearted tone and catchy musical numbers, the episode is a nice break from the show's usual intensity and proves to be a fan-favorite.
