The Great North is a heartwarming animated series that follows the lives of the Tobin family and their small community in Alaska. In season 1 episode 1, titled "Sexi Moose Adventure," we are introduced to the quirky, but lovable family, consisting of single dad, Beef Tobin (voiced by Nick Offerman), and his five children: Judy (Jenny Slate), Wolf (Will Forte), Ham (Paul Rust), Moon (Aparna Nancherla), and the youngest, who goes by the nickname, "Little Beef" (Dulcé Sloan).

The episode begins with the Tobin family eagerly anticipating the arrival of summer, so that they can finally shed their heavy winter coats and enjoy the outdoors. However, their excitement is quickly dampened when they realize they have been invited to a moose hunt with the town's ultra-macho mayor, Dan Wasserman (voiced by guest star, Alanis Morissette). Beef, who has always been against hunting, reluctantly agrees to go along so as not to upset Wasserman.

On the day of the hunt, things take an unexpected turn when the group comes across a "sexy" moose - a moose with unusually long eyelashes and a sultry strut. Judy, who has a passion for photography, convinces her siblings to help her capture a photo of the exotic creature, hoping to sell it to a magazine and make some money. But their plan hits a snag when they accidentally end up in a hot air balloon and are flown far from the moose, leaving Judy heartbroken.

Meanwhile, back in town, the Tobin's friend and neighbor, Honeybee Shaw (Dulcé Sloan), is dealing with her own set of problems. Her cat, Lucy, has gone missing, and it's up to a mismatched group of locals - including Honeybee's gruff ex-husband, Dave (guest star, Ron Funches) - to find her.

Throughout the episode, we see the various members of the Tobin family, each with their unique quirks and personalities, working together towards a common goal. Whether it's Little Beef's obsession with his imaginary friend "Alanis," Ham's attempts at starting a badminton club or Judy's passion for photography, the show highlights the importance of family and community in the face of adversity.

As the episode comes to a close, we are left with a heartwarming moment as the family - having failed to capture a photo of the "sexy" moose - instead come together to create a makeshift family portrait with Beef's taxidermy animals. It's a testament to the show's ability to find humor and warmth in everyday situations and highlights the importance of family bonds, regardless of their imperfections.

Overall, "Sexi Moose Adventure" serves as a great introduction to The Great North and sets the tone for the series as a heartwarming and humorous family show that celebrates the everyday quirks and challenges of life in Alaska.
