The Haunted Hathaways is a family sitcom on Nickelodeon about a family who moves to New Orleans and finds out that their new house is haunted by ghosts who have been living there for over a century. The show follows the Hathaway family as they try to coexist with their ghostly roommates and navigate the challenges of living in a haunted house.
In season 2 episode 19, titled "Haunted Mentor," Taylor (played by Amber Montana) is feeling down about her basketball skills. She's been struggling with her game, and she's not sure how to improve. That's when she meets an unexpected mentor - the ghost of a former basketball player who used to live in the Hathaway house.
The ghost, named Coach Jackson (played by Rick Fox), was a highly acclaimed basketball coach in his day, and he's eager to help Taylor get back on track. At first, Taylor is apprehensive about taking advice from a ghost, but she soon realizes that Coach Jackson really knows his stuff. He gives her tips on how to improve her shooting, passing, and dribbling skills, and he encourages her to keep working hard and never give up.
Meanwhile, Louie (played by Benjamin "Lil P-Nut" Flores Jr.) is dealing with a different kind of mentor - a substitute teacher who is more interested in goofing off than actually teaching. Louie is frustrated by the teacher's lack of engagement and decides to take matters into his own hands. He sets up a fake student council meeting to trick the teacher into coming to school early and actually preparing a lesson.
Things get even more complicated when Miles (played by Curtis Harris) and Frankie (played by Breanna Yde) get involved. They don't want to miss out on the fake student council meeting, so they decide to hide in the trophy case until the teacher arrives. But when they accidentally knock over a trophy, they alert the school janitor, who thinks they're burglars and calls the police.
As the chaos unfolds, Taylor continues to work with Coach Jackson and makes some major strides in her basketball game. She even impresses her coach and earns a spot on the starting lineup. Meanwhile, Louie's plan to teach his substitute teacher a lesson works, and the teacher finally starts taking his job seriously. Miles and Frankie narrowly avoid getting arrested, and the entire Hathaway family learns some valuable lessons about the importance of mentorship and never giving up on your dreams.
Overall, "Haunted Mentor" is a fun and uplifting episode of The Haunted Hathaways that showcases the power of mentorship and hard work. From Taylor learning to improve her basketball skills with the help of Coach Jackson to Louie taking his education into his own hands, the Hathaway family proves that with a little determination and support, anything is possible - even in a haunted house.
