The best way to understand the concept of this show is to explain the premise of the movie it originated from.

Descendants Wicked World is a direct spin-off of Descendents. The teens are from the Isle of the Lost, a dreary place where some of the most well known villains reside. The offspring of a few of the most notorious ones are selected to attend school in Auradon, a place known for its goodness. Although the teens enter Auradon, with an immoral secret mission, on behalf of their parents, they struggle with their evil versus good desires. While wanting to follow in the footsteps of their parents, it also shows how they want to establish their own identities, and in the end, good prevails

Descendants Wicked World picks up where Descendants left off. As mentioned, these are short episodes, lasting less than five minutes each. In one episode, featuring the two female lead characters, one makes cupcakes, with inedible ingredients, in an attempt to impress the other kids. Needless to say, she realized her mistake and pleads with her friend, to use her magic to make them edible. Reluctantly, her friend agrees, but the spell goes awry and causes a big explosion instead.

Despite their lengths, these animated shorts are designed to teach moral lessons. Although they have been able to assimilate into a new society, the main characters still struggle to remain good. So, when the teens use their magic to resolve issues, consequences do occur, and they begin to realize it is not always the right choice.
