Doug and Carrie, the couple we have grown to love throughout the previous seasons, are back for the fourth season of The King of Queens, and they are starting it off with a bang. In episode 1, titled "Walk, Man," the audience is introduced to a new obsession of Doug's - walking. He finally got the memo about taking care of his health, and now he's committed to taking 10,000 steps every day.

Doug's newfound love for walking starts to become a bit of an issue for his wife, Carrie. She is concerned because it seems that Doug is becoming dangerously obsessed with reaching his daily step count, taking every opportunity to walk and getting irritable and agitated when he can't. Carrie's fears are only compounded when Doug walks out of a job interview because they didn't offer him a parking space close enough to the building for him to get his step count in.

Meanwhile, Arthur, Carrie's father, is dealing with his own problems. He is convinced that a neighbor, Lou Ferrigno, stole his air conditioner. Arthur is determined to get it back, but no one believes him - not even Doug who usually backs Arthur up. This leads Arthur to come up with his own strategy which includes pretending to be sick to get Lou's sympathy and then sneakily copping an eyeful of his belongings to try and find the stolen aircon.

As the episode progresses, we see Doug and Carrie dealing with their individual problems. Carrie trying to get her husband to understand that it's okay not to hit 10,000 steps a day, and Doug trying to navigate his walking obsession while still trying to be a functioning member of society. There are a lot of comedic moments in this episode, from Doug's frustration at having to walk the dog long enough to get his step count in, to Arthur pretending to be as sick as a dog.

The episode is a perfect representation of what we love about The King of Queens. There's the perfect blend of humor, heart, and relatability. We all have our quirks and obsessions, and this episode shows just how far we are willing to go to satisfy them. It also showcases the importance of communication and understanding in a relationship, something that Doug and Carrie sometimes struggle with. By the end of the episode, the two are able to come to an understanding, and it's all thanks to the power of walking.

Overall, "Walk, Man" is a hilarious start to the fourth season of The King of Queens. It sets up some great storylines for the rest of the season while still being a satisfying standalone episode. Fans of the show will enjoy seeing their favorite characters back in action and will be excited to see where their stories go next.
