Doug and Carrie prepare to host Thanksgiving dinner for their friends and family. However, Doug is upset when his friend Deacon announces that he cannot attend because he and his wife Kelly have made other plans. Doug becomes increasingly irritated when he sees that Deacon is still planning to spend Thanksgiving with another friend who is hosting an "Orphan's Thanksgiving" dinner. Meanwhile, Arthur is overjoyed at the prospect of having Thanksgiving dinner at home and insists on making a homemade turkey despite Carrie's protests.
As tensions rise, Doug decides to teach Deacon a lesson by stealing the turkey from his friend's Orphan's Thanksgiving and passing it off as his own. However, things quickly go awry when Deacon and Kelly unexpectedly show up at Doug and Carrie's house to surprise them, and Doug is forced to come clean about his scheme.
Despite the chaos, the group manages to come together and enjoy a memorable Thanksgiving dinner with plenty of laughs and a few surprises along the way. As the evening draws to a close, Doug is reminded of the true meaning of the season and vows to make amends with Deacon and Kelly. Overall, "Thanks Man" is a heartwarming and humorous episode that perfectly captures the spirit of Thanksgiving.
