In The King of Queens season 9 episode 7, titled "Home Cheapo," Doug and Carrie feel pressure to keep up with their friends who are moving into a new, bigger, and more expensive house. Feeling left behind, the couple insists on looking at a house in their price range, but they quickly realize that they can only afford a "fixer-upper" home that needs a lot of work.

In an attempt to save money, Doug and Carrie buy a run-down house that they plan to fix up themselves. However, they soon realize that they have taken on more than they can handle. The couple fights over every decision related to the renovation, leading to tension in their marriage.

As if the renovation wasn't stressful enough, Doug's best friend Deacon, who happens to be a contractor, offers to help with the renovations. Doug initially accepts the offer, but tension arises when Deacon tries to take over and do things his way.

Meanwhile, Arthur becomes upset when he discovers that Spence has been using the heated toilet seat in his bathroom. The feud between the two men escalates, leading to an all-out battle as they try to stake their claim on the prized bathroom accessory.

As the renovation on the house drags on and their marriage is strained, Doug and Carrie begin to question whether this was the right decision. Will they be able to work through their differences and finish the renovation, or will they be stuck in an unfinished house forever?

"Home Cheapo" is a hilarious and relatable episode about the stresses of homeownership and the challenges of staying within a budget. With great performances from the cast and plenty of laughs, this episode is a must-watch for fans of The King of Queens.
