The Koala Brothers is an animated children's television show which follows the adventures of two koalas, Frank and Buster, as they help their animal friends in the Australian outback. In season 1 episode 9, titled "Ned the Policeman," the brothers come across a new resident in the town, a wombat named Ned who has just become the local policeman.
The episode starts with Frank and Buster on their daily morning walk when they come across Ned. Frank and Buster are surprised to see a new face in the town, and even more surprised to find out that Ned is the new policeman. Ned is a bit nervous around Frank and Buster, but the brothers quickly put him at ease and make him feel welcome in the town.
Ned soon gets his first case as the town policeman when Jeanie the Emu's egg is stolen. Jeanie is frantic and upset that her precious egg has been taken, and it's up to Ned to solve the case and find the culprit. Ned is determined to prove himself as a capable police officer and sets off to investigate the crime.
Frank and Buster offer to help Ned with the investigation and they go around the town questioning the other animals. They first visit Mitzi the Possum, who claims she was asleep at the time of the burglary and saw nothing. Next, they visit Sammy the Snake, who tells them he saw a shadowy figure near Jeanie's nest but couldn't identify who it was. Finally, they talk to Lolly the Kookaburra, who tells them she saw a kangaroo near the nest earlier in the day.
Armed with this information, Ned, Frank, and Buster head out to investigate further. They come across the kangaroo, who denies any involvement in the egg theft, but they notice something strange in his pouch. Upon investigation, they find Jeanie's missing egg! The kangaroo confesses to stealing the egg as a prank and returns it to a grateful Jeanie.
Ned is pleased with himself for successfully solving his first case as the town policeman. Frank and Buster congratulate him on a job well done and welcome him to the town. Ned is no longer nervous around his new friends and feels confident in his new job.
The episode ends with Frank, Buster, and Ned reflecting on the day's events and how they worked together to solve the case. It's a heartwarming episode that teaches children the value of friendship, teamwork, and problem-solving.
