The Last O.G. is a hit comedy series where a former convict named Tray (played by Tracy Morgan) returns home to Brooklyn after serving 15 years in prison. In the third season premiere, titled "Lookin At The Front Door," Tray is finally getting his life together. He has a steady job at a coffee shop and is trying to reconnect with his ex-girlfriend Shay (played by Tiffany Haddish) and their teenage twins.

The episode kicks off with Tray excitedly preparing to take the twins to their first day of high school. He's bought them new backpacks and is dressed to impress in a shirt with a collar. But as soon as he steps outside their apartment building, he realizes things might not go as smoothly as he planned. The community he left behind 15 years ago has changed dramatically. There are new apartment buildings towering over the neighborhood and different faces on every block. Tray's old stomping grounds still remain but are overshadowed by the new wave of gentrification.

Tray's attempts to connect with his old friends prove unsuccessful. They tease him for being out of touch with current events and for still wearing old clothes. Tray realizes he's a relic of a bygone era and struggles to find his place in this new world. He feels like he's lost touch with his roots and the people who once loved him.

Meanwhile, Shay is busy focusing on her new career as a pastry chef. She's working at a fancy restaurant owned by a celebrity chef named Officer Goodnight (played by Joel Marsh Garland). Goodnight is smitten with Shay and is trying to sneak in some late-night visits to her bakery. Shay knows he's married and tries to keep things professional, but her boss’ persistence makes her job unbearable.

As the episode progresses, we see Tray and Shay try to navigate their new lives while still holding on to the past. They're both trying to move forward and find success, but obstacles keep getting in their way. Whether it's Shay's boss' advances or Tray's struggle to connect with his old friends, they both face challenges that make them question their choices.

In the end, Tray finally opens up to Shay and confesses that he's having a hard time adjusting to the changes in their neighborhood and feels like he's lost touch with his past. Shay tells him that it's okay to feel that way and reminds him that no matter what, they'll always have each other. The episode ends with Tray and Shay sitting on a park bench looking out at their community, with their children by their side. It's a poignant moment and a reminder that no matter how much things change, some things will always remain the same.

Overall, “Lookin At The Front Door” is a heartfelt episode that captures the essence of The Last O.G. It's a show about second chances and the power of family and community. As always, Tracy Morgan is the heart and soul of the series, and his natural comedic timing and earnestness make every scene he's in a joy to watch. Tiffany Haddish also shines in her role as Shay, bringing a mix of humor and vulnerability to the character. The third season premiere of The Last O.G. is a great start to what promises to be another entertaining and heartfelt season.
