Ep 12. The Injury

In The Office season 2 episode 12, titled "The Injury," Michael Scott, the boss of the paper distribution company, Dunder Mifflin, suffers a painful injury at his home. He burns his foot on a George Foreman grill while making breakfast.

As a result of his injury, Michael is unable to drive and is forced to work from home. He calls the office and demands that someone come to his house to take care of him. Dwight Schrute, one of his employees and closest allies, immediately volunteers to help.

Upon arriving at Michael's house, Dwight is shocked by the severity of Michael's injury. He is also deeply disturbed by the smell of bacon and the sight of Michael's disgusting, blistered foot. Nevertheless, Dwight stays by Michael's side and tries to make him as comfortable as possible.

Jim Halpert, a salesman who is secretly in love with his office crush, receptionist Pam Beesly, takes the opportunity to play a prank on Dwight. He calls Dwight pretending to be from a fake company called "Jim's Assets" and tricks Dwight into bringing Michael's important paperwork to the office.

When Dwight arrives at the office and realizes he has been tricked, he is angry and embarrassed. He retaliates by crashing his car into a pole in the parking lot and fake-injuring his own head. This causes everyone in the office to panic and race to his aid, leaving Jim and Pam alone together at their desks.

As the day goes on, Michael's injury worsens and he becomes more and more unbearable to be around. He orders Dwight to take him to the hospital, but insists on driving himself there despite his foot injury. The resulting car ride is both hilarious and cringe-inducing, with Michael swerving all over the road and screaming in agony.

When they finally arrive at the hospital, Michael is given special treatment due to the severity of his injury. He is wheeled around in a wheelchair and given a special pager that alerts the staff to his needs. However, Michael quickly becomes bored and tries to use his injury as an excuse to leave and go home.

In the end, Michael is forced to stay at the hospital and undergo surgery. The entire staff comes to visit him and expresses their concern and support, despite his annoying behavior throughout the episode. The episode ends with Michael being wheeled out of the hospital on a gurney, looking slightly dazed but relieved to be leaving.
