The Voice Season 15 Episode 10 The Battles, Part 4

  • October 23, 2018

In episode 10 of season 15 of The Voice, titled "The Battles, Part 4," the intense competition continues as coaches Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Blake Shelton pit their team members against each other in duets. Each coach has enlisted the help of a guest advisor to help train and prepare their team members for the battles, and in this episode, those advisors include former Voice winners Cassadee Pope, Jordan Smith, and Chris Blue, as well as actress Tracee Ellis Ross.

The episode begins with the coaches choosing the songs for their team members' duets, and we see some interesting combinations, like a rock-infused version of "Heartbreak Hotel" by Adam's team and a soulful rendition of "Midnight Train to Georgia" by Jennifer's team. The coaches also have to make some tough decisions about which of their team members will stay and which will go, as only one singer from each duet will move on to the next round.

We see some standout performances from the very beginning, like Kelly's pairing of Abby Cates and Delaney Silvernell singing "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding. Their voices blend beautifully together, and they receive a standing ovation from all four coaches. Another standout performance comes from Blake's team, as Chris Kroeze and Mercedes Ferreira-Dias deliver a stunning rendition of "Back in the High Life Again" by Steve Winwood. Their harmonies are spot-on, and the coaches are once again on their feet.

As the battles continue, we see some tough decisions being made by the coaches. Adam struggles to choose between Reagan Strange and Emily Hough, both of whom deliver strong performances of "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran. Kelly is torn between two of her strongest contenders, Chevel Shepherd and Sarah Grace, after they impress with their rendition of "You Look Good" by Lady Antebellum. And Jennifer has a particularly difficult decision to make after Colton Smith and Patrique Fortson shine with their performance of "God Gave Me You" by Blake Shelton.

As always, the coaches offer their advice and encouragement to the singers, and we see some emotional moments as team members who are eliminated say goodbye to their fellow competitors and coaches. But the episode ends on a high note, with a few surprise steals and saves that keep the competition alive.

Overall, "The Battles, Part 4" is a thrilling episode of The Voice that showcases some truly talented singers and some tough decisions by the coaches. The duets are a real highlight, with some unexpected song choices and some truly stunning performances. And with the competition now down to just a few singers per team, the stakes are higher than ever as everyone fights for a spot in the next round.
