When a gift shop suddenly bursts into flames, the owner, Frankie Berlito (guest star RALPH MACCHIO), is charged with arson and murder since his girlfriend was trapped inside and died. The Fire Marshall (guest star TONY DENISON) says an accelerant was used. Jimmy, who has known Frankie since law school, represents him. Along the way, a Chinese gang and an Italian mobster become central figures in the case.
