Like any other ordinary school girl, Eliza lives with her family. She has an older sister who despises her and her parents who drag them across the world shooting nature documentaries. However, Eliza is anything but ordinary. Eliza has a secret that she cannot tell anyone: she can talk to animals. Her best friend is Darwin, a chimpanzee who travels with her family in their camper. Nigel is the only one who can really understand Eliza. Join the Wild Thornberrys as Eliza uses her special gift to help the animals she discovers on all of her adventures with her family.

Eliza convinces a group of Baboon-like apes to stand up against their legendary adversaries- "The Others." Darwin, meanwhile, has met an almost identical group of apes with an identical problem.

With a bed-ridden Marianne, Eliza tires to fill in her shoes around the commvee while Debbie goes with Nigel to shoot footage. Things get out of hand when a feather-covered Donnie is snatched up by a condor and mistaken as her own.
