In season 2 episode 9 of Three Sheets, Zane Lamprey travels to South Korea, where he immerses himself in the country's drinking culture. He begins his journey in the capital city of Seoul, where he visits a traditional Korean bar called a "soju tent" and tries the popular distilled rice liquor, soju. Zane quickly learns that soju is a staple in Korean culture and is often consumed alongside a variety of different Korean dishes.
Next, Zane heads to the port city of Busan, where he samples some of the local seafood and visits a local brewery to try some of the region's famous rice beer, makkoli. While there, Zane also participates in a traditional Korean rice wine-making ceremony and tries his hand at pounding rice in a giant stone mortar.
As Zane continues his journey through South Korea, he also explores the country's many outdoor markets and experiences the unique atmosphere of Korean nightlife. He even takes part in a popular Korean drinking game called "ssamjigi," which involves drinking shots of soju while trying to catch a grape in your mouth.
Throughout the episode, Zane meets a variety of locals who share their love of Korean drinking and cuisine with him. He also learns about the role that drinking plays in Korean culture, particularly in social and business settings. Overall, the episode gives viewers a fascinating look at the vibrant and diverse culture of South Korea, as seen through the lens of its drinking traditions and customs.
