The episode begins with Brian arriving in New Orleans and making his way to the French Quarter, which he describes as the city's oldest and most historic neighborhood. On his journey, he meets a few locals who explain the significance of the city's music culture and its history. He learns that this was the birthplace of jazz music, and so he heads straight to one of the best-known jazz clubs in town: Preservation Hall.
At Preservation Hall, Brian is treated to a mesmerizing performance by some of the city's best jazz musicians. The music takes him right back to the 1920s and 30s when jazz was at its peak. He learns that the club opened in the 1960s as a way to preserve the rich musical history of the neighborhood, and is now a must-see destination for anyone visiting New Orleans.
Following his visit to Preservation Hall, Brian decides to investigate the city's connection to Bonnie and Clyde, the infamous duo known for their crimes in the 1930s. He meets with a historian who tells him all about the time when Bonnie and Clyde visited New Orleans, and how they used the city as a base to plan their crimes. Brian learns that the two stayed at several different hotels in the city, and so he sets out to find them.
At one of the hotels, Brian discovers a room that is claimed to be the same room where Bonnie and Clyde stayed. He finds out all sorts of interesting details about the couple's stay, and how they managed to evade capture for so long. Brian is fascinated by the stories, and he starts to feel like he is back in the 1930s himself.
With Bonnie and Clyde fresh in his mind, Brian heads to the city's famous Oak Alley Plantation, where he learns about the city's early history. He discovers how the plantation was used to grow sugarcane, and how it has since become a tourist attraction. In the plantation's main house, Brian meets a local jazz band who are playing some of the classics from the era. He's impressed with their talent and enjoys dancing to the music.
The episode ends with Brian marveling at the colorful and vibrant culture of New Orleans. He discusses how the city's music and history are so intertwined, and how they create a unique and special environment for the people visiting.
