Ep 18. Magistral

The episode "Magistral" of the original Japanese version of Tokyo Ghoul Season 1 opens with the aftermath of the battle between Aogiri Tree and Anteiku. The members of Anteiku are trying to patch up their wounds and come to terms with their losses. Kaneki is particularly disturbed by the death of his friend, Yoriko, who was killed during the raid on Anteiku. He feels guilty for bringing danger upon her and is wracked with grief.

Meanwhile, Aogiri Tree is celebrating their victory over Anteiku. Jason, the sadistic ghoul who tortured Kaneki, is pleased with the destruction he has caused and revels in his power. He encourages Ayato to take over as leader of the organization, as he believes Ayato has the potential to become even stronger than himself.

Back at Anteiku, the remaining members are trying to figure out their next steps. They are all shell-shocked and traumatized by the recent attack, and some are considering leaving Tokyo altogether. Hinami, the young girl who lost her mother in the attack, is particularly vulnerable and needs extra care and attention from her friends.

The next day, Kaneki is visited by Yoshimura, the wise and enigmatic leader of Anteiku. Yoshimura reminds Kaneki that he must stay strong and committed to his mission, as he is their only hope at defeating Aogiri Tree and ensuring the safety of all ghouls in Tokyo. Yoshimura also reveals that he has a secret weapon that may be able to turn the tide of the conflict - a powerful ghoul who has been imprisoned by Aogiri Tree for years.

Kaneki decides to take action and infiltrate Aogiri Tree in order to rescue the imprisoned ghoul. He disguises himself as a member of Aogiri Tree and infiltrates their main base of operations. He is shocked by what he sees there - scores of ghouls being held captive and used for gruesome experiments. He also comes face to face with Ayato, the new leader of Aogiri Tree.

Ayato is initially suspicious of Kaneki, but eventually lets his guard down and shares some of his beliefs with him. Ayato believes that ghouls and humans cannot coexist peacefully, and that ghouls must fight for their survival. Kaneki disagrees with Ayato's extreme views, but recognizes that there may be some truth to them. He also manages to slip away and find the imprisoned ghoul.

The imprisoned ghoul turns out to be a woman named Eto, who is revealed to be the infamous One-Eyed Owl. Eto is initially hostile towards Kaneki, but eventually reveals that she has been working with Yoshimura all along. Eto tells Kaneki that she has been collecting data on Aogiri Tree and their experiments, and that she may have a lead on the location of Kaneki's friend, Rize.

The episode ends with Kaneki escaping from Aogiri Tree with Eto in tow, while Ayato and Jason plot their next move against Anteiku. The tension between the two groups is at an all-time high, and it seems that the conflict between humans and ghouls is only going to escalate further.
