The Tokyo Noir series is actually a collection of different clips revolving around different women in Tokyo. These women live in a sexually repressed culture, but they are able to find an outlet through a number of different venues. For instance, Miyuki is a college aged girl who is able to find work with businessmen in a fuzoku night club. The series does feature sexual references, so it may best be viewed by adults only. It is important to note that the series was actually created by two different directors, Masato Ishioka and Naoto Kumazawa. For Tokyo Noir, each of the directors filmed their own separate vignette. They then collaborated for the last section of the series together. A number of fans have found it interesting to compare the parallels between each of the episodes made by the director. Each of the series follows a similar plot line and theme. They all feature women as the starring lead, including actresses such as Kimika Yoshino and Aimi Nakamura. They will all be given the chance to break out of their traditional roles and have a sexual awakening. Though the women may have seemingly different lifestyles, they are tied together by the common bond of breaking free from these barriers.
