A civil war rages on the metallic planet of Cybertron, with the Autobots and Decepticons locked in a bitter struggle for the planet's future. As the episode begins, the Decepticons have made gains on the battlefield, with Soundwave and Shockwave launching an assault on the Autobot stronghold. The stage is set for an epic showdown as Jetfire and Shockwave face off in battle. Though Jetfire is outmatched by his opponent's brute strength, he manages to hold his own thanks to his strategic thinking, as well as some key assistance from his fellow Autobots.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Megatron and Starscream are locked in their own conflict. As the two struggle for power and influence, they end up putting the entire Decepticon army in danger. Things come to a head when Starscream takes matters into his own hands and launches an attack on the Autobots without Megatron's approval.
As the episode draws to a close, both sides are left reeling. The Autobots have achieved a major victory by taking out the Decepticon weapon, but at significant cost. Meanwhile, the Decepticons are left divided and weakened by the actions of their own members.
