In Treme season 3 episode 3, titled "Me Donkey Want Water," the residents of New Orleans continue to struggle to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Antoine is offered a job that he can't refuse, while LaDonna receives a surprise visit that puts her on edge. Meanwhile, Annie prepares for a big gig with her new band while also dealing with personal issues, and Davis finds himself at a crossroads in his career.

One of the major storylines in this episode revolves around Antoine and his decision to take a job playing with a tourist band in the French Quarter. Although the gig pays well, Antoine is conflicted about betraying his roots as a New Orleans musician. He seeks advice from his mentor, who tells him that sometimes you have to make compromises in order to survive. Antoine ultimately takes the job, but he continues to struggle with his decision and how it will affect his identity as a musician.

Another important plotline involves LaDonna, who is still dealing with the trauma of being raped in the previous season. She receives a surprise visit from her brother-in-law, who tells her that her attacker has been released from prison and is now living in New Orleans. LaDonna becomes understandably paranoid and begins to take extra precautions to protect herself and her family. She also starts to have doubts about her decision to testify against her attacker, and wonders if it was worth it.

Annie also has a lot on her plate in this episode. She has joined a new band and is preparing for a big gig at a popular music festival. However, she is dealing with personal issues that threaten to derail her career. She is still grieving the loss of her mentor, Harley, and is struggling to write new songs. She also becomes involved in a romantic relationship with one of her bandmates, which creates tension within the band.

Finally, Davis finds himself at a crossroads in his career as a musician and radio host. He is approached by a big-time producer who offers him the opportunity of a lifetime: a chance to host a national radio show. However, Davis is skeptical about losing his creative control and is unsure if he wants to pursue the opportunity. He also has personal issues to deal with, including the fact that his girlfriend has moved out and he is struggling with depression.

Overall, "Me Donkey Want Water" is a complex and emotionally charged episode that deals with a wide range of issues facing the residents of New Orleans. From the struggles of musicians to the trauma of sexual assault, the episode explores the many ways in which people are still trying to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
