Ep 15. Mudslinging

In Trollhunters season 1 episode 15, titled "Mudslinging," the students at Arcadia High School hold a presidential election, but not without some dirty politics. The episode starts with Jim Lake Jr., Toby, and Claire campaigning for a candidate called "The Woodstock Troll," who promises to make the school a better place. However, getting the mud proves to be a challenging task, as the Darklands are guarded by Gumm-Gumms, a fierce troll species that is loyal to Gunmar, the evil troll leader.

Back at school, Mary Wang and her campaign manager, Steve Palchuk, resort to mudslinging to discredit the Woodstock Troll and Jim's campaign. They spread false rumors about the Woodstock Troll being a criminal and start a smear campaign against Jim, accusing him of being a troublemaker and a liar.

The situation escalates when Jim discovers that Mary Wang has cheated in the past elections, and he decides to expose her. He gathers evidence and presents it to the principal, but Mary and Steve manage to erase the evidence before anyone sees it. Undeterred, Jim decides to turn to social media and goes on a live stream to tell the truth about Mary's dirty tactics.

However, Mary and Steve launch a counter-stream and use their connections to make Jim's feed glitchy and distorted. The Woodstock Troll, who had been hiding, decides to make a comeback and reveals himself as the school mascot. He joins Jim on the stream and exposes Mary's lies, causing the students to turn against her.

Meanwhile, Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! manage to get the mud but have to fight their way out of the Darklands. They encounter a group of Gumm-Gumms and engage in a vicious battle. AAARRRGGHH!!! discovers his hidden strength and defeats the Gumm-Gumms, allowing Blinky to retrieve the mud and escape back to Arcadia.

In the end, the Woodstock Troll wins the election, and Mary and Steve are exposed as frauds. Jim, Toby, and Claire celebrate their victory, but their celebration is short-lived as they discover that Gunmar has found a way to enter the human world. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, setting up the exciting finale for season 1.
