Tyler Perry's Young Dylan is a live-action comedy series that follows the life of a young boy named Dylan (played by Dylan Gilmer) who moves from Chicago to live with his affluent family in his aunt's house in a suburb. Dylan is a young aspiring hip-hop artist who is full of energy and passion for his music, but at the same time, struggles to adjust to his new life in the neighborhood and his cousin's lavish lifestyle.

Dylan's aunt, Makeda (Aloma Wright), is a successful doctor while her husband, Charles (Carl Anthony Payne II), is a lawyer. They have two children, Rebecca (Celina Smith), a popular girl who is obsessed with social media, and Charlie (Hero Hunter), a remarkable kid who is a genius in the making. Dylan, being raised in a different environment, finds it challenging to fit into the lavish lifestyle of his cousins and the expectations of his aunt.

Throughout the show, Dylan's passion for hip-hop music and his talent as a rapper, singer, and songwriter help him to find his place in the new environment.
