UFO Hunters is a television show which followed a team of "UFO hunters" in their investigations in to reported sightings and recordings of UFOs around the world. The team was made up of several individuals, William J. Birnes the case manager, Pat Uskert a researcher and diver, mechanical engineers Ted Acworth and Kevin Cook, as well as an investigative biologist Jeff Tomlinson. During their investigations the team of hunters would interview witnesses to understand what happened, examine the sites where the UFO or aerial phenomenon was seen, as well as going over video and audio recordings regarding their authenticity. The show investigated both popular UFO sightings and crash sites like Roswell in addition to lesser known UFO sightings that may be old or recent. They were also known to look into the supposed UFO abductions claimed by several people. The ultimate goal of these investigators was to determine if their case was true, a hoax, or perhaps probable but not definite. In their investigations they would collect evidence from scenes for testing in the laboratory, test theories of how the event may have occurred, and to photograph and take readings of the area to help in determining the case's outcome. Investigators on the team were were highly educated and specialized in a number of fields. Ted Acworth, who was only in the first season of UFO Hunters is a graduate of MIT and currently works there. Pat Uskert came to the team with over a decade of experience in ocean sea diving. William Birnes New York Times bestselling author and literary agent. UFO Hunters ran for only three seasons and suffered from a lack of viewership among key demographics which led to early cancellation. It ended with its final four episodes being aired in a four hour long marathon before finally going off of the air. Despite numerous petitions online and on Facebook desiring the continuation the TV series, UFO Hunters was not renewed by the network.
