As the fifth episode of season one, The Big Relocate follows the lives of a few wild animal orphans that need to be relocated. It features several segments, each highlighting a different animal and its story. The episode first takes us to the middle of the savannah, where we meet Gigi, a young giraffe. Gigi has been rescued from a poacher's snare, but she has a broken leg and cannot be returned to the wild. The show takes us through her physical therapy and the bond that has grown between Gigi and her caretaker.
Next, the episode follows the story of Panya, an abandoned elephant. Panya's mother died from natural causes when she was just a baby, and she was found alone in a forest. The animal rescue team that found her brought her into their care, but Panya has outgrown her shelter, and it's time to find a new home for her. We get a glimpse into the challenges of relocating a young elephant and ensuring her safety and comfort.
The episode also introduces us to Pango, a recently rescued pangolin. Pangolins are small mammals that are considered the world's most trafficked animal, making them an endangered species. The rescue team took Pango in after he was found wandering alone in the forest. The team must now figure out how to integrate Pango into his new environment and ensure that he is taken care of.
Another segment features Teddy, a baboon who became an orphan as a result of a territorial fight. Teddy's mother was killed in the fight, leaving him alone in a tree. The team takes him in, and we follow his journey to a new troop of baboons, where he will be introduced and hopefully accepted.
Finally, the show introduces us to the story of Fluffy, a young lion. Fluffy's mother was poached, leaving him alone in the wild. The rescue team had to track and capture Fluffy before he became a target for other predators. We see Fluffy adjust to captivity and learn how to hunt and feed himself.
Throughout the episode, we see the dedication of the rescue teams as they care for these wild animal orphans. We see how they give these animals a second chance at life and provide them with a safe home. The Big Relocate showcases both the beauty and the difficulties of caring for these animals, giving viewers a rare glimpse into the world of animal rescue.
