Fortunately, a new veterinarian called Dr. Charlotte Scott (played by Kate Mara) arrives at the wildlife park and quickly gets to work treating an injured horse and attending to other animals. It doesn't take long for her to develop a bond with the family and prove her worth. However, the family soon discovers that Dr. Scott has a few secrets of her own, which may put her and the animals in danger.

In true Wild at Heart fashion, episode one doesn't shy away from the raw reality of life in the African bush.
