Later that evening, Diaspro sneaks into the palace gardens and casts the spell on the Winx, and they begin to turn into toads. Fortunately, Timmy, the nerdish member of the Winx's male counterparts, the Specialists, manages to grab the jewel from Diaspro just before she completes the spell. The jewel has the power to undo the spell, and Timmy runs to Bloom's aid.

Meanwhile, Diaspro's spell has taken effect, and the Winx are hopping around the garden, unable to speak or use their powers. Sky, Bloom's love interest, arrives and he is horrified to see the Winx in their toad-like state. Diaspro pretends to be concerned and tells Sky that Bloom must have eaten something bad and that she has the antidote.

Diaspro leads Sky to the witches' stronghold, where she plans to exchange the jewel for the antidote. However, the plan backfires when the Trix realize that Diaspro has double-crossed them, and they trap her in a cage. Meanwhile, the Winx, still in their toad form, manage to use their powers to communicate with Timmy, who has the jewel.

Together, the Winx manage to break out of the palace gardens and head to the witches' stronghold. They use their powers to defeat the Trix and rescue Diaspro, but not before the jewel is destroyed. The girls then return to the palace and use their own magic to create an antidote for the toad spell, restoring themselves to their normal fairy form.

In the end, the Winx resume the royal ball, and Diaspro leaves, defeated and humiliated. Sky realizes that he has feelings for Bloom and apologizes for ever considering rekindling things with Diaspro.
