Wizards of Waverly Place Season 2 Episode 9 Taxi Dance

In the Wizards Of Waverly Place season 2 episode 9, entitled Taxi Dance, the Russo family has to face a dilemma of epic proportions. Alex, the middle Russo sister, wants to attend a high school dance but is scared to ask Harper, her best friend, to be her date. The proposed dance is designated specifically for taxi drivers and their daughters exclusively, but Alex is determined to go with Harper, despite the odds.

The family's patriarch and former wizard Jerry forbids Alex from attending the dance. He fears that he and his daughters could attract unwanted attention from the Wizard Council, which could lead to trouble. Meanwhile, Justin, the eldest of the Russo siblings, is busy preparing to go on his first date with Miranda. Max, the youngest of the trio, is more interested in creating his own superhero than going to the dance.

To overcome her father's order, Alex uses her magical powers to create a fake taxi license allowing her to enter the dance. Harper catches on to Alex's deceit and ultimately refuses to attend the dance with her friend. Out of desperation, Alex hires a taxi driver named Dominic to pose as her father and escort her to the dance. Ironically, the dance is held in the competition grounds of the country's best taxi driver.

Once at the dance, Alex finds herself in an unfamiliar and uncomfortable setting as most of the guests are not only taxi drivers but also older men. In an effort to blend in, she disguises herself as an older woman named Connie. Harper gate-crashes the event, under disguise, to support Alex and arrive as Alex's knight in shining armor, only to find Alex wearing crazy glasses and playing with inflatable unicorn toys.

As they enjoy the night together, Harper learns the truth behind Alex's lie. She gets mad at her friend for going behind her back to attend the dance and abandoning their long-planned event of playing miniature golf. Things get worse when Alex's faux dad, Dominic, wins the competition and is awarded a contract that will let him operate every cab in New York City. Dominic insists that one of his daughters becomes the new face of his operation, and Alex is tempted by the offers.

The episode ends with Alex revealing her wizard status to Dominic, and in response, he reveals being a werewolf. In a heart-to-heart talk, Dominic encourages Alex to fix things with her friend Harper. He points out to Alex that there is no perfect formula for true friendship or fatherly love. The episode concludes with the Russo siblings returning home, with Alex understanding the meaning of true friendship.
