Ep 5. Occam's Razor

Kicking off with our new central character, Jana, "Occam's Razor" begins with a glimpse into her home life as she wakes up to take on her new duties as a Creature Keeper for the pack. She heads to school but things get complicated when she's asked to partner with Maddy for an upcoming science project. Her reluctance to work with Maddy is rooted in the fact that she knows about Maddy's secret as a Wolfblood, but Maddy has no idea of Jana's secret identity yet. As the two continue to work together, they begin to suspect something supernatural is happening in their town, leaving them to work together to get to the bottom of it.

Meanwhile, Rhydian is trying to learn more about the Wolfblood world on his own. He's looking to learn about the mysterious organization of Wolfbloods, but not all of his research will lead him where he wants to go. Along the way, his interest leads him to question whether or not he even has what it takes to become a full-fledged Wolfblood, and his new friend Sam tries to offer him some guidance.

As Jana and Maddy work on their project, they find that there's something suspicious going on in the area's water system that's potentially dangerous to humans. They're able to enlist the help of Tom, who is a skilled swimmer, to help investigate. They discover that the water issue may be connected to an area construction site, which leads them to do some breaking and entering to get proof of their suspicions.

As the three investigate, they discover something that could ultimately reveal the secret existence of Wolfbloods to the general public. Which brings us to Occam's Razor – a principle that states that the simplest explanation is often the correct one. However, with something as complex as the Wolfblood world, it's hard to know what the "simplest explanation" really is. What is clear is that the Wolfbloods are going to have to work together to solve the problem before anyone else gets hurt.

"Occam's Razor" is an engaging episode of Wolfblood, with a compelling plot that will keep you guessing. It's also nice to see new characters being introduced slowly but surely - we're excited to see more of Jana in particular in the episodes to come. It's another solid outing for the series that offers an enjoyable blend of supernatural mystery and teenage drama.
