Yakari is ecstatic about his new treasure until one day, during a hunting trip, he accidentally loses it. After searching high and low, Yakari enlists the help of his animal friends to try and locate the lost flute. Along the way, they encounter a grumpy badger who is in possession of the flute. Yakari uses his quick thinking and kindness to convince the badger to give up the cherished instrument, and all is well once again in the Sioux village.
Both "Friends for Life" and "The Lost Flute" teach important values and principles such as the importance of looking out for one another, forgiveness, and the power of friendship.
