According to the legend, the monster can be scared away by loud noises and bright lights.

Yakari quickly returns to the shore and begs the villagers to help him. They are skeptical at first, but Yakari insists that they must try if they want to save his life. Together, they build a large bonfire and start banging pots and pans to create a loud noise. The villagers are surprised when they see that the monster actually seems to be scared away by the noise and light, and they all celebrate Yakari's bravery.

Meanwhile, Wohali is still trying to heal the wounded wolverine. It is a difficult and dangerous task, but Wohali knows that he cannot give up. Finally, with some help from the other hunters, Wohali is able to capture the wolverine and remove the arrow from its side. The animal is grateful and slowly begins to trust Wohali, allowing him to pet it and care for it.
