The story of this film is inspired by the hit Broadway production that has dazzled audiences for nearly three decades. The original story was written by French author Victor Hugo on the social injustice of early nineteenth century France and the city of Paris during this time period. Another historical note of the film is the depiction of the 1832 June Rebellion when barricades began to spring up as fighting ensued. Also, this film has the original score written by Claude Michel Schonberg, who had written the score for the original theatrical productions for both the United Kingdom and the United States. †
Universal Films has already finished filming in the city of Winchester, England with the advent of digital matte technology to aide in the depiction of 19th Century Paris. Also Universal has done filming in the historical areas of Paris, France to create a realistic feel to the film plot. A few of Hollywood's celebrities have already been cast into this film, creating a powerhouse of talent to create an original theater production quality worthy of a Tony Award. †
Knowing the popularity of the Musical, critics are predicting rave reviews for the film adaptation. The film was screened in New York City and received a standing ovation after the conclusion. However, the release dates for both the United States and the United Kingdom will differ, due to circumstances of circulation across the Atlantic. The release date for the United States will be sometime in the month of December 2012. The release date for the United Kingdom will be scheduled for the month of January 2013 in theaters across the country. †
People will have a chance to see this future classic film by the New Year. To see what the critics are raving about, reserve a ticket today and see what all of the excitement is about. †
Hugh Jackman is, as always, a ‚Äúsuper nice guy.‚ÄĚ Even, apparently, when stalked. Sunday saw the arrest of a woman for stalking, after she attacked Hugh Jackman while he was working out at his New York gym‚Ķ with an electric razor. Katherine Thurston, 47, was arrested a few blocks away from the gym after the incident, a New York police spokeswoman said. Thurston reportedly shouted that she loved the actor and then threw an electric razor, which was filled with hair clippings, at Jackman.
‚ÄúAmerican Idol‚ÄĚ singer Adam Lambert may be one of the voices of dissent out there regarding ‚ÄúLes Miserables,‚ÄĚ but the numbers don‚Äôt lie. The selective soundtracks for the movie topped Billboard charts this week. Les Miserables: Highlights From the Motion Picture Soundtrackwas number one on the Soundtracks charts, and number 33 overall on the Billboard 200, with over 43,000 copies sold. ‚ÄúI Dreamed a Dream,‚ÄĚ unsurprisingly, was the most downloaded single from the soundtrack, which contained 20 songs from the movie.
Hugh Jackman is sexy, talented‚ÄĒhave you seen how many awards he was up for this year?--and successful. So, he‚Äôs gay, right? I mean, he was in ‚ÄúLes Miserables.‚ÄĚ That totally means he's gay. No, guys. Though the rumors have been attached to Jackman since‚Ķ well probably since he revealed his love of Broadway, Jackman insists that he is a heterosexual. Why the adamant denials? Not because he objects to the lifestyle, apparently... but because they bug his wife.
Most critics have only good things to say about the award shoe-in ‚ÄúLes Miserables,‚ÄĚ but a few are expressing dissent... and quickly being quieted. ‚ÄúAmerican Idol‚ÄĚ star and singer Adam Lambert was vocal via Twitter about his disappointment in the flick. Lambert pointed out ‚ÄúThe industry will say ‚Äėthese actors were so brave to attempt singing this score live‚Äô but why not cast actors who could actually sound good?‚ÄĚ Ouch. He added, ‚ÄúI felt like I should ignore the vocals and focus on the emotional subtext- but the singing was so distracting at times it pulled me out.
