Triggermen is a British comedy-drama film from 2002 that follows two hitmen, Terry (played by Neil Morrissey) and Andy (played by Adrian Dunbar), who are hired to do a job for their boss, Bruno (played by Pete Postlethwaite). The pair are excited to finally have a job after being idle for some time, but things quickly take a turn for the worst when they accidentally kill the wrong man.

From this point on, Terry and Andy are on the run from the police and Bruno, who is determined to get back the money he spent on the hit. They are forced to team up with another hitman, Stubbs (played by Michael Rapaport), who is looking to get out of the business and start a new life. Together, they try to clear their names and set things right by finding and killing the real target.

The film is set in London and has a distinctly British feel to it. The characters are all well-drawn and memorable, from the bumbling Terry and Andy to the tough-talking but ultimately opportunistic Bruno. Postlethwaite is especially good in his role, bringing a gravitas and intensity to the character that makes him both threatening and sympathetic.

One of the best things about Triggermen is the way it balances humor and drama. There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, but the film never loses sight of the fact that these characters are in real danger and that there are serious consequences to their actions. The tension builds throughout the film, culminating in a satisfying and surprising finale.

The cinematography is also worth mentioning. Director John Bradshaw makes excellent use of the London setting, capturing both the beauty and the grittiness of the city. There are some especially memorable scenes, such as a car chase through city streets and an assassin's showdown in a stairwell.

Overall, Triggermen is a solid film that should appeal to fans of crime dramas and British comedies alike. It's well-acted, well-directed, and has a satisfying plot that keeps you engaged from beginning to end. While it may not be a classic of the genre, it's definitely worth a watch for anyone looking for an entertaining and well-crafted film.

Note: The film is also known as The Hippopotamus Pool.
