Ep 12. Subway Hero

In 30 Rock season 2 episode 12, titled "Subway Hero," the staff at TGS with Tracy Jordan are forced to stay in the building during a storm when they discover that the studio's air conditioning is being repaired, leaving the weather too hot to work in. With no way of getting food, the staff turns to Tracy who recommends ordering sandwiches from a deli across the street. However, when the delivery person is hit by a car before reaching the studio, Jack is forced to take action and go on a rescue mission to retrieve the sandwiches himself.

Meanwhile, Liz is trying to persuade her boyfriend, Floyd, to move in with her. She sets up a "homey" atmosphere in her apartment to impress him, but things go awry when their conversation turns to politics and Floyd reveals that he is a Republican. This revelation causes a rift between the couple as they struggle to see eye-to-eye on opposing political views.

As Jack navigates his way through the stormy city streets to retrieve the sandwiches, he encounters a man in need of help on the subway. Despite his initial reluctance, Jack becomes a hero and helps the man, delaying his delivery of the sandwiches to the studio.

Back at TGS, the staff begins to turn on each other as hunger and heat cause tempers to flare. Kenneth tries to rally his coworkers by reminding them of the importance of teamwork, but to no avail. In a fit of desperation, Tracy turns to his entourage for guidance, leading to a comical showdown between Tracy's team and Liz's team.

In the end, Jack finally makes it back to TGS with the sandwiches and is hailed as a hero by his grateful coworkers. Meanwhile, Liz and Floyd make amends after realizing that love can conquer political differences.
