Ep 22. Betty

Betty is the 22nd episode of the sixth season of the animated television series Adventure Time with Finn and Jake. The episode revolves around the character of Betty, who is on a mission to save her boyfriend Simon, who has been overtaken by the power of the magical crown.

Betty, who is a scientist and once a fiancée to Simon, arrives in the Land of Ooo on a mission to save him from the curse of the Ice King's crown. While searching, she uncovers a hidden entrance that leads her to a lab of Simon, The Ice King when he was still sane, which he had hidden to protect the princesses after the magic in Ooo caused him to go insane. Betty finds a device called "The Enchiridion", which is capable of granting wishes. Armed with this powerful tool, Betty sets off to save Simon.

As Betty continues to work on the cure, the Ice King's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and dangerous. Betty manages to use the Enchiridion to enter the Land of the Dead, where she seeks help from Death who provides her with vital information on how to save Simon from the curse of the crown.

Betty then returns to Princess Bubblegum, and together they work on a plan to break the curse. The plan involves the sacrifice of someone, a significant element in fixing the curse. Betty is willing to make the sacrifice herself, but Princess Bubblegum refuses and goes ahead to have her loyal assistant, who volunteers, create a powerful potion that breaks the curse.

From then on, the episode follows the journey of the cured Simon and Betty as they both make their way back to Simon's laboratory to say goodbye before he gets called back to the Ice King persona. As they both walk, they reminisce on their time together and give each other hope for a better future while also sharing a kiss as the screen fades to white.

The Betty episode, set in Adventure Time's surreal universe of magic and science, is a poignant tale of love and devotion that explores themes of sacrifice, desperation, and undying love. It is an episode that appeals to both children and adults alike as the characters deal with some heavy themes in an extraordinary world.
