Ep 4. Flooded

After Sunnydale's destruction and Buffy's resurrection, the Scooby Gang must now deal with the practicalities of rebuilding their lives amidst a world of supernatural madness. In this episode, the theme of rebuilding takes center stage with the sudden flooding of the Magic Box — the headquarters of Buffy and the gang's supernatural investigations and supplies.

The episode opens with Buffy, Xander, and Anya discussing the state of the vandalized Magic Box, which is crucial for the gang's operations. Meanwhile, Willow is struggling with addiction to magic and Tara is trying to help her through it. But when the gang discovers that their headquarters is being flooded by an underground river, they must band together to stop the deluge before it destroys everything.

While they begin the tedious task of pumping water out of the store, they discover that someone has robbed them blind. All the potent magical artifacts and items that they had on display in the store have been stolen, leaving them with nothing to sell or use in their missions. Buffy and the gang suspect a local demon known for stealing powerful magical items, and they begin to investigate.

In the meanwhile, Buffy realizes that she needs a job to help support herself and her little sister. She lands a gig as a waitress, but it shatters her confidence when she finds herself struggling to keep up with the pace of the work. As she faces this new challenge, it's clear that her leadership and her strength are being tested in new ways.

Buffy, Willow, and Xander track down the demon responsible for the thefts and engage him in a battle, all the while barely managing to stay afloat in the flooded Magic Box. Despite their best efforts, they don't recover the stolen magical items. But Willow is determined to get the items back, and she makes a decision to rely on magic to help them in their mission, despite Tara's concerns.

Against Tara's wishes and her own better judgement, Willow casts a spell to find the missing magical items. But in doing so, she doesn't calculate the power of the spell, and it conjures up the powerful demon responsible for the thefts. The demon threatens to destroy the town, and Buffy and her team must fight to keep the world from being destroyed.

In the end, the gang manages to save the world once again, but the victory is bittersweet. Buffy realizes that she can't do everything alone and needs the support of her friends and family. Willow confronts the consequences of her addiction to magic and its role in the flooding and theft. Tara, in turn, reveals that she must take a break from her relationship with Willow to figure out her own needs and limits.

In the aftermath of the confusion and destruction, Buffy and the gang regroup to discuss their next steps. Buffy is still struggling to pay the bills and manage her new job, but the gang pledges their support to help her get through this phase. Meanwhile, Willow takes steps to confront her addiction and begin moving towards recovery, as Tara contemplates her own needs and priorities. The episode ends with Buffy relying on the support and camaraderie of her friends, family, and allies to face the challenges of another day.
