Coupling was a television sitcom produced in the U.K. for the BBC and shown in syndication around the world. The show was based on the real life relationship of writer Steven Moffat and his wife Sue Vurtue, who acted as the producer of Coupling; despite the success of the U.K. version attempts to make U.S. and Greek versions of the show were not successful.
Taking place in the early 2000s, Coupling tells the story of the dating lives of six friends in London. The main characters in Coupling are Steve and Susan, who meet in the first episode and begin a relationship as they are breaking up with their respective partners, Patrick and Jane. Adding to the difficulties of starting and continuing their relationship is the fact that Patrick is Steve's best friend and Jane continues to hang around with their group of friends. The cast of characters is completed by the best friends of Steve and Susan, Jeff and Sally who both find it hard to maintain a long term romantic relationship.
Coupling ran for four seasons with 28 episodes in total, which were first broadcast across the BBC channels in the U.K. between 2000 and 2004. The show is often compared to U.S. sitcom Friends because they use a similar group of friends who interact as they are dating. Unlike Friends Coupling highlights the difference between the sexes in their reactions to events or problems in their relationships.
The cast of Coupling includes Jack Davenport, who plays Steve and has starred in The Pirates of the Caribbean as Jamas Norrington and the TV shows Smash and Flash Forward. Other notable members of the cast include Leverage's Gina Bellman and Covert Affairs Richard Coyle. Following the completion of the fourth season, which aired in 2004 writer Steven Moffat posted brief stories explaining the lives of the characters after the season online.

Coupling Full Episode Guide
Susan is ready to give birth, and Steve is visited by Jeffina. Jeffina is both Jeff in female form, and Steve's pregnant math teacher from his childhood. Meanwhile, Jeff is promised some fun with Jane, but Jane can't seem to figure out that he has arrived.
Jane asks to see Oliver's flat, but therein lies a problem. Oliver hasn't exactly been "editing" himself, and his apartment is quite filled with unsuitable stuff.
Susan and Steve attend pregnancy classes, and rope in some of the other members of the gang (since Susan might need a back-up for jittery Steve). Oliver runs into his ex-girlfriend at the class, and wonders . . .
Patrick and Sally's relationship progresses and Patrick tries to figure out a way to sleep in his own bed.
