Ep 4. Lake Murray Beast/the Donner Party

In Haunted Highway season 2 episode 4, the team sets out to investigate two mysterious and eerie cases. One of them is the Lake Murray Beast, a monster that has been sighted in Lake Murray, South Carolina for decades. The locals believe that the monster is a giant catfish that has grown to an enormous size, but there are also rumors that the creature might be something much more sinister. The other case is that of the infamous Donner Party, a group of pioneers who got lost in the mountains during their journey to California in 1846 and had to resort to cannibalism to survive.

The episode starts with Jack Osbourne, Jael de Pardo, Dana Workman and Devin Marble discussing the two cases and trying to come up with a plan of action. They decide to split into two teams, with Jack and Dana investigating the Lake Murray Beast and Jael and Devin heading to the Sierra Nevada mountains to visit the site where the Donner Party was trapped.

Jack and Dana start their investigation by interviewing witnesses who claim to have seen the Lake Murray Beast. They hear stories about a giant fish jumping out of the water and scaring fishermen, and they also talk to a man who claims to have seen a large creature with red eyes lurking in the waters of the lake. To see if they can find any evidence of the creature, Jack and Dana rent a boat and go out into the lake with some fishing equipment.

While out on the lake, they experience a strange phenomenon where their fishing lines seem to be tangled and caught on something, even though there is nothing visible in the water. They also hear strange noises and feel a strong current pulling them in a certain direction, which they believe could be the work of the Lake Murray Beast. However, they are unable to catch anything on their fishing lines and are forced to abandon their search for the creature.

Meanwhile, Jael and Devin are exploring the mountains where the Donner Party was trapped. They visit the site where the pioneers had to resort to cannibalism to survive and are struck by the eerie feeling that pervades the area. They use ghost-hunting equipment to try and capture any paranormal activity, and they also conduct interviews with experts who have studied the Donner Party case.

During their investigation, Jael and Devin experience several strange occurrences that they believe could be related to the Donner Party. They hear strange noises and see shadows moving around them, and they also come across some mysterious markings on the ground that could be a clue to the fate of the pioneers. However, they are unable to find any concrete evidence of paranormal activity and are forced to conclude their investigation without any definite answers.

As the episode comes to a close, the two teams reconvene to discuss their findings. They are both disappointed that they were unable to find any definitive evidence of paranormal activity, but they agree that their investigations have opened up new avenues of inquiry. With their curiosity piqued, they vow to continue exploring the mysteries behind the Lake Murray Beast and the Donner Party, and to uncover the truth about these enigmatic cases.
