In the seventh episode of Lincoln Heights' first season, titled "Manchild," the Sutton family faces a series of personal and professional challenges. The episode begins with Charles and Cassie getting ready for school, with Cassie being excited about her upcoming biology test and Charles begrudgingly getting dressed. After breakfast, Jenn and Eddie discuss their wedding plans and the pressure they both feel to have the perfect ceremony. Meanwhile, Lizzie struggles with her job at the nursing home, feeling like she doesn't fit in with the other nurses.

Later in the day, Charles is brought to the station by the police after breaking a window at school. The officer warns Eddie that a file will now be open for Charles and that if he gets in trouble again, he may end up in juvenile hall. Eddie talks to Charles about his behavior and how he needs to make better choices. Charles responds defiantly and storms off.

Meanwhile, Lizzie has a heart-to-heart with a patient at the nursing home, Mrs. Williams, who reminds her of her grandmother. Lizzie confides in Mrs. Williams about her struggles and insecurities, and Mrs. Williams advises her to trust in her abilities and not let others make her feel inferior.

Back at school, Cassie's biology test proves to be too difficult, and she starts to feel overwhelmed and stressed. She confides in her friend Sage about feeling like she's not smart enough to keep up with her classmates. Sage encourages her and reminds her of all the hard work she's put in.

In the evening, Jenn and Eddie attend a pre-wedding counseling session with their pastor. The session brings up unresolved issues between the couple, including Eddie's struggles with alcoholism and Jenn's resentment towards him for not being there for her during difficult times. Eddie promises to do better and get sober for good.

The episode ends with Charles going to apologize to the assistant principal for breaking the window and getting into trouble at school. He admits that he acted out because he's scared of not being able to live up to his family's expectations. The assistant principal encourages him to communicate with his parents and siblings about his fears and to trust in himself.

Overall, "Manchild" is an emotional and character-driven episode that focuses on the Sutton family's individual struggles and how they come together as a family to support each other through their hardships. The episode deals with themes of insecurity, pressure, and forgiveness, and showcases the show's commitment to portraying realistic and relatable characters.
