Strictly Speaking was a comedy panel game show produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and hosted by comedian and musician Andrew Hansen. The show aired for one season from 2010 to 2011, with a total of eight episodes. Each episode of Strictly Speaking featured two teams of three comedians competing against each other to see who could provide the funniest and most accurate definitions for a series of obscure and bizarre terms. The terms were drawn from a wide range of sources, including science, pop culture, politics, and everyday life.

The show was divided into four rounds, with each round featuring a different type of challenge. The first round, called "What Am I?", involved one member of each team attempting to describe a word or phrase without using any of the key words or phrases associated with it. The team with the most correct answers at the end of the round won points.

The second round, "Pick a Winner", involved a member of each team picking a strange phrase from a selection of cards and using it to create a short comedy routine. The performances were judged by a guest celebrity judge, who chose the winner based on the quality of the routine.

The third round, "Quickfire", was a rapid-fire round in which each team had to come up with as many funny definitions for a single term as possible within a set time limit. The team with the most funny and creative definitions at the end of the round won points.

The final round, "Last Word", was a head-to-head round in which one member from each team was given a term and had to come up with as many definitions as possible before their opponent was able to guess the correct definition. The first team to get three points won the round and the game.

Overall, Strictly Speaking was a fun and lighthearted panel game that provided a great opportunity for the comedians involved to flex their creative muscles and showcase their wit and humor. The show was well-received by audiences and critics alike, with many praising the format and the caliber of the guests and contestants. Although it only ran for one season, Strictly Speaking remains a memorable and entertaining addition to the Australian comedy landscape.
