Stan Lloyd (Woody Harrelson) is part of an FBI team that has been tasked to protect a valuable diamond, but they are no match for master thieves Max Burdett (Pierce Brosnan) and Lola Cirillo (Salma Hayek) who want the jewel for themselves as part of one last heist, before they retire to an island in paradise. After six months in paradise, Max is becoming visibly bored with retirement, and looking for ways to make life more interesting, when Agent Lloyd turns up at his house for a visit. Burdett informs Lloyd that he is no longer in the business and reminds him that the FBI has no jurisdiction on the island. Agent Lloyd is convinced that Max and Lola are on the island in preparation for the visit of a cruise liner, (the seven seas navigator) which will be bringing the third Napoleon diamond with it. The cruise is aptly tagged as “the diamond cruise” and will be docked on the island for a week. When Lola returns from a tennis lesson, Max updates her on the visit, and has to convince her that he had no plans for stealing the diamond. While they were looking for bugs, Lola advises Max that Stan had taken the spent bullet that Max had been shot with at the last heist. Max may not have known about the diamond before, but that does not stop him from looking. Henri Mooré (Don Cheadle) is a local gangster who also has his eye on the diamond, for other reasons. He asks Max to join him in his quest to improve his bottom line with the proceeds of the diamond. Max is not convinced that he should get involved, instead he opts to put together a plan and pass it on to Mooré for him to steal it himself. Directed by Brett Ratner, with supporting roles by Naomie Harris as Sophie
