- 1 hr 37 min
Determined to die after one last conquest, Don Juan DeMarco is talked out of his intended suicide and into a bargain by a psychiatrist named Dr. Jack Mickler. With one week to tell his story and be declared sane or committed to a psychiatric facility, Don Juan starts to share the story of his life, his many lovers and his one true love, Dona Ana. He realizes at a young age he is different from the other boys. His attention turns to women, and his mother, hoping to instill Christian values in him, sends him at sixteen to Dona Julia for spiritual study. A woman unhappily married to a man of fifty, Dona Julia's attention turns to Don Juan despite her best resistance. News of the affair reaches her husband, Don Alfonso, and in turn he lies to the world of an affair he and Don Juan's mother, Dona Inez, had been having. Quick to defend her honor, her husband engages in a sword fight and is killed by the liar. Don Juan then picks up the fight, killing Don Alfonso. Dona Inez goes to a nunnery and sends Don Juan off to Spain. However, the ship takes the passengers to an obscure part of Arabia, where they're sold into slavery. Don Juan is purchased by a wife of the Sultan and led off to become the Sultana's secret personal love slave. By day he belonged to her, and by night he belonged to the other 1500 women of the Sultan's harem. Eventually the danger becomes too great, and the Sultana sends him away. He lands on the island of Eros, where he meets Dona Ana, his greatest love. When she learns of his past, she leaves him, and his adventure ends. He vows someday to return to the island and win her back. He is found competent, released, and is welcomed back into her arms.
