Fierce people is an independent film starring Anton Yelchin as a poor teenager named Finn Earl, Diane Lane as Finn's mother, Kristen Stewart as Finn's girlfriend, Chris Evans as Finn's friend, and Donald Sutherland as a billionaire. Finn Earl feels trapped in his Lower East side apartment by his mother Liz who is a massage therapist and drug addict. Finn wants to get out of New York and escape to South America for the summer. It is here that Finn plans to meet his father for the first time. Finn's father is an anthropologist studying an indigenous tribe of Ishkanani Indians, who are known as the Fierce People. But Finn's plans to surprise his father in South America are delayed when he gets arrested for trying to help his mother. Finn's mother Liz feels guilty for ruining his summer. So to repay her son and try to straighten out her own life, Liz finds Finn and herself a new place to live at the summer home of one of Liz's clients who is a billionaire named Ogden C. Osbourne. Mr. Osbourne introduces Liz and Finn to a new upper-class world. In his mind, Finn compares these people to the tribe of Fierce People he might have met had he spent the summer with his dad. Finn's encounters with these fierce, mysterious, and super wealthy people become his new summer adventure. It's among these people that Finn meets Maya, the granddaughter of Mr. Osbourne. Finn and Maya fall in love, and it doesn't take much longer for Finn to gain Mr. Osbourne's favor as well. But soon Finn's acceptance into Mr. Osbourne's new upper-class world is threatened by his involvement in a violent incident that may turn the Osbournes against him forever. Dirk Wittenborn adapted the screenplay for the film from his semi-autobiographical novel also named Fierce People. Despite its all-star cast, Fierce People received mostly negative reviews.
