The Watch is a movie starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill. It is a satirical look at how a neighborhood watch functions. Evan, played by Ben Stiller, is a manager at a local large chain department store. One night a strange experience occurs at the store which kills the night manager. In an effort to keep his neighborhood safe, Evan decides to form a neighborhood watch. He puts up fliers around the neighborhood requesting people to come to his house for the initial meeting. The meeting ends up with Bob, played by Vince Vaughn, Franklin, played by Jonah Hill and an unusual character named Jamarcus. The four men form an unlikely watch patrol for the neighborhood, with Bob hosting meetings in his rec room and serving beer. Evan takes his role in the watch very seriously and is often disappointed in the part attitude displayed by the other members, They see their time in the watch as time shared by a group of men rather than as time they are to be keeping a vigilant watch over the neighborhood. The town police department does not take the team seriously either and often shows up where they are patrolling only to give them a hard time. The group ends up stumbling onto the property of a crotchety old man who seems to be hiding something. While on the property they also discover a strange metal disc. Through a series of comedic events, the team soon learns their killer might be an alien from another planet. The personal lives of each of the four men in the watch is woven into the storyline. Bob has a teenage daughter who's rebellious attitude and unpleasant boyfriend consumes a lot of Bob's time and energy. Franklin is a misfit who was rejected by the police force, Evan is hiding a secret from his wife, and Jamarcus appears new to the area.
