The Internship starts out depicting two business partners Nick, and Billy whose business being closed due to new age technology. Now jobless and looking for another chance to get back on their feets, Billy informs Nick about an Internship for Google after some research he's done online. Both being dumbfounded with the new ways of utilizing technology, Nick and Billy are conducted in an online interview for the Google Internship they plan to partake in. After being accepted into the Google Internship program, Billy and Nick heads off to the Google Company completely unprepared for the surprise they're in for upon their arrival. Both Billy and Nick still not understanding what the intern program is about, arrive at the company believing that the program will be a piece of cake. Billy and Nick then find out after seeing the younger and more intelligent fellow interns that they will be training with, puts them in a state of concern. After finding out that this is not the average job internship, Billy and Nick devised a plan to blend in and mock everything their fellow interns are doing to get the job. Believing that their plan is working, Nick and Billy putting on an act to blend in with their fellow interns, are unknowingly discovered and chosen by their fellow interns to go on a false mission for a fictional comic book character. Getting a kick out of the joke they're putting on Billy and Nick, the other interns give a description of the fictional character. Billy and Nick are given the description and including a toy sized model of the wheel chaired Professor Charles Xavier, and is told by their fellow interns to go to Stanford University to find him. Nick and Billy believing this will earn them the respect of their fellow interns, sets out to Stanford University find Professor Xavier. After both Billy and Nick confront a man fitting the professors description and accusing him of being the secret programmer, they are both punched by the man and later realize that the joke is on them.
