"The Dilemma" is a comedic film directed by Ron Howard, starring Vince Vaughn and Kevin James as best friends Ronny and Nick, respectively. As the name suggests, Ronny faces quite the dilemma upon discovering an unsavory secret about Nick's wife. The film takes centers around Ronny and Nick at a critical juncture in their career. Nick is an engineer with a project that could gain great success for their auto design firm. Nick is married while Ronny is getting ready to propose to his long-term girlfriend, Beth. Nick seems to have a stable life, bolstered by his supposedly happy marriage and satisfaction in his work. It is clear that Ronny has been the one who's struggled to bring stability to his life. He is overcoming a battle with a gambling addiction. Ronny spies Nick's wife, Geneva, kissing another man. Obviously very shaken by the incident, he returns home visibly upset. When he lies about what is bothering him, Beth starts to worry that his gambling problem has returned. When he meets up with Nick to tell him, he realizes the stress of the project is getting to Nick. Instead of adding to the strain and possibly breaking Nick's heart with the news, Ronny resolves to fix this problem himself. He confronts Geneva who assures him the affair is over. Ronny soon discovers that Geneva has lied to him and is continuing the relationship. He begins following her, taking pictures for proof, and confronting the other man. Geneva threatens to make him look bad and expose a long-buried secret from his past. Ronny struggles with his dilemma of whether or not to tell Nick what he knows. His increasingly erratic behavior alarms his loved ones and he begins to look like the one with the shocking secret, rather than Geneva. Nick has to figure out how to stop Geneva and keep his friendship with Nick...all while salvaging his own life.
