The Whistleblower is a biography drama that was released in 2010. The film follows the story of Kathryn Bolkovac, who was a former police officer tasked with the UN cleanup operations in Bosnia. During her time in Bosnia Kathryn comes across a serious of sex scandals that were perpetrated by the UN peacekeepers. The sex scandals include numerous sexual assaults, and the peacekeepers’ involvement in human trafficking. Kathryn Bolkovac attempts to bring the matter forward only to have her reports being covered up by the UN command. This leads to her facing danger on her part as she goes about the process of exposing the case to the Associated Press. This eventually leads to Kathryn putting an end to the human trafficking at the cost of her professional reputation. The Whistleblower was written by Larysa Kondracki and Eilis Kirwan. It was directed by Larysa Kondracki, and is based on the true story of Kathryn Bolkovac. The film features performances by Rachel Weisz, Monica Bellucci, and Vanessa Redgrave.
